Leadership AT ILCM
CAMPUS MINISTRY LEADERS
Immanuel Lutheran Campus Ministry encourages students, faculty and staff to join us in ministry. We have a group of dedicated leaders who use their gifts serving, supporting and equipping others to live out their faith in Christ! Get to know them below.
Alaina Ruppert is a senior Accounting major who loves to sing her favorite Christian and country songs. She has served Immanuel since the fall of 2014. Alaina adores penguins and loves coffee. She enjoys photography, painting, and cooking at the Student Center. Some of her favorite sports are Cubs baseball, Penguins hockey, and Colts football. Along with her favorite sports teams, Netflix and Food Network are just about the only things you'll see on her TV. She really enjoyed working on the float this year and is super excited for graduation in May!
Katie Ervin is a sophomore Management Information Systems major at Eastern Illinois University. In her free time, Katie likes playing tennis, bargain shopping and journaling. She is also a scented candle and flavored coffee creamer enthusiast and enjoys listening to scientific podcasts while on walks of during long car rides.
Audrey Rex has been at Immanuel since her Freshman year and has been serving since fall 2016. She is currently a sophomore who is majoring in Biochemistry and Pre-Veterinary Medicine and is involved in research. She is excited to cook and eat the food cooked in the student center while working on the award winning homecoming float! Her favorite things include food (of course), animals, and Netflix.
This is Sami Boomgarden's first year serving Immanuel Lutheran Campus Ministry, but she loved participating in it last year. She is a sophomore with psychology and pre-medicine majors with minors in both chemistry and neuroscience. She enjoys spending time with her friends, watching Netflix (the nerdier the show the better), and listening to musical soundtracks. She is so excited for all the opportunities that this new year will hold!
Greg Witto has been the Director of Campus Ministry at Immanuel since 1994. He is married to Cindy (an EIU Alum) and they have two children Joy and Paul. He enjoys sports, woodworking and reading a good book! "It is a great pleasure to serve in ministry with young adults in this campus community! My family enjoys the wonderful relationships we have developed with so many college students over the years."
Terry Baker is the Chairman of the Immanuel Lutheran's Campus Ministry Team. He is serving in this capacity because he wants to help Young Adults come to know Christ and grow to become Christian Leaders
Doug and Kelly Bacon are excited to be a part of the Immanuel Lutheran Campus Ministry team. Their family has been with Immanuel for four years and want to extend Christian family fellowship to the students of EIU and Lakeland Community College. They live in the country with their children, Garrett 23 and Eva 18. Doug works with his father in the auto body repair business and Kelly teaches elementary school.
Kevin Hastings earned a bachelor's degree in 1998 and a master's degree in 2000 from EIU. He was an active leader in ILCM from 1996-2000 meeting many people who are still good friends today. "There are so many memories there, and it is a blessing to continue making memories being involved with the ministry." He teaches math at Parkland College in Champaign since graduating, enjoys playing organ, Cardinals baseball, Illini football, and time with friends and family.

Emma loves to be with young adults and encourages them to consider Immanuel as their church family away from home.
